I have been playing drums and LEGO for more than 30 years. Since my first LEGO set at the age of 5 and playing a drum in choir in grade 2, it is my heart.
On the music side, I have played in more than 20 bands, from church bands to rock; metal to jazz bands. I have a diploma in music from UFS and qualifications from the Trinity School of Music in London.
LEGO has so much intrinsic meaning and science behind it. It is an awesome therapeutic and educational tool, just like LEGO.
Play therapy is a big part of what I do and as a LEGO educator, I have the privilege of teaching through creative play. LEGO education is about providing a complete STEAM, coding and robotics foundation for the future.
My coaching background allows me to connect the dots and look after you and your child’s emotional and educational needs, all while playing!
In my opinion, drumming is on the nexus of so many overlapping spheres. From spiritual to rhythmic, brain wave synchronization, audible feedback, rational thought stimulation, exercise and through to fringe science. And we all know a cool song can’t exist without a nice beat.
I have first hand experience of the educational, therapeutic and playful value that LEGO provides to any age.
Also with disabled adults and children with autism, asperger syndrome and other behavioural challenges.
The foundational knowledge LEGO education provides regarding STEAM concepts, programming principles and basic science and maths skills are tremendous.
