Playing drums is one of the most fun things you can do! It is also one of the healthiest things you can do. Piece Together teaches specifically drum kit percussion. The focus is on developing one’s style.
Piece Together is a member of the certified LEGO educator community.
The music syllabus is a collection of material from LONDON school of music and personal experience over the past 20 years.
I have been playing drums and LEGO for more than 35 years. Since my first LEGO set at the age of 5 and playing a drum in choir in grade 2, it is my heart.
On the music side, I have played in more than 20 bands, from church bands to rock; metal to jazz bands. I have a diploma in music from UFS and qualifications from Trinity school of music in London.
There are many health benefits to playing drums either alone, in a drumming group, or in a musical group. These health benefits include, but are not limited to; physical health benefits, psychological health benefits, cognitive fluidity, therapeutic effects, emotional expression, and even spiritual benefits.
Some of these health benefits can be experienced also by simply hearing drums on a regular basis.
My mission with LEGO education is centered around the concept of STEAM education. STEAM or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths are important focus areas for the future.
We use the LEGO education system to develop the initial skills needed in these areas and then move on to touch typing, the basics of computing, the basic of coding and robotics, how to use AI and balancing technology and normal outside-life.
